Reduce a Fever with Honey

I  Recently came down with the flu and this really helped my fever. If you don’t prefer the strong taste of Buckwheat Honey you can use another milder honey, although the dark honeys like Buckwheat contain the most antioxidants.

A fever is an elevated body temperature that most often occurs as a sign of illness. Even as your body temperature increases, most people feel colder than normal until the fever reaches its highest temperature. This is the immune system’s response to infections. The higher body temperature helps destroy the bacteria and viruses.  They can’t take the heat.

The old popular saying  of “feed a cold, starve a fever”  might not be the best advise. Today it is widely believed that both illnesses should receive similar attention and care. In addition to the arsenal of fever reducers on the market,  you might try this  natural home remedy drink.

Try this warm drink to reduce a fever:

Combine
1 1/2 teaspoons cream of tartar,
1/2 teaspoon lemon juice,
2 1/2 cups warm water,
and 1/2 teaspoon honey ( WP Buckwheat)

Sip  slowly.
